"Bella," Jane whispered, gently lifting both of the girl's arms in between them and softly rubbing down her forearms with the towel. The sound of Bella's heart beat filled the room, racing upwards with the moment until it reached a million miles a minute. Both eyes were shone upon, the left encased in a diamond of yellow that stopped just past the beginning of her temple. The whole right side of Bella was illuminated in the light, her right eye almost transparent where the light reached it. It was not awfully bright in the room, only the bedside table lamp was on, letting soft yellow light reach the crevices it could. The soft music that had been playing picked up slightly with a woman singing in high soprano over soft guitar music. Thunder struck in the distance, far away to just be barely heard.
Jane was distinctly aware of the sound of Bella's breathing as she wiped down her arms.
